Patrick Adler is a part-time Research Associate at the MPI. Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, his disciplinary home is in economic geography. Currently he is engaged in several research projects related to the role of Service Class work in economic development. His Master’s thesis considers the function that bike messengers play in the regional economy and seeks to understand the conditions that support courier service. He is also involved in a study of food handler certification in the City of Toronto, and another study of skill based technical change in the Service Class. Patrick will begin his PhD in September 2011 in the Urban Planning Department at UCLA.
